(NEW YORK, NY, 8/8/2025) – On Monday, August 11, the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will hold a press conference with a coalition of humanitarian advocates, frontline aid workers, healthcare professionals, and New York-based families with loved ones in Gaza, to address Israel’s escalating forced starvation crisis and its continued blockade of aid.

Rita – Founder of GoProjectHope and operator of a soup kitchen in northern Gaza. She will speak about:
Her team’s inability to access food for refugee families living in tents.
The bombing of a children’s kindergarten center and shelter the day before it was set to open, killing a well-known 7-year-old. A video of a child crying because the soup kitchen ran out of food.
The urgent need for 600 humanitarian food trucks per day to enter Gaza.
Zahed Rahman, a healthcare worker who recently returned from Gaza. He will discuss:
Firsthand observations of the humanitarian crisis.
Ongoing reports from doctors and nurses describe deliberate starvation tactics.
The physical toll on Gaza’s healthcare workers, many of whom are too weak to continue providing care.
Two New York-based families with loved ones in Gaza. These families will speak about their relatives’ inability to find food due to the blockade.
Father Khader to speak on about 600 Christian Palestinians currently huddled in two churches, fearing for their lives, and Israel's attack on churches and mosques in Gaza.
Efforts are underway to confirm a Rabbi speaker for additional faith-based support.
