CAIR-NY Congratulates Asim Rehman on Appointment as Oath Commissioner and Chief Administrative Law Judge for City of New York

(NEW YORK, NY 3/30/2022)—The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today congratulated Asim Rehman on his appointment by Mayor Eric Adams as oath commissioner and chief administrative law judge for the City of New York.

In a statement, CAIR-NY Legal Director Ahmed Mohamed said: 

“As legal and civil rights advocates for almost one million Muslims throughout New York City, we are enthusiastic about Asim Rehman’s appointment and commend Mayor Adams for his decision. Mr. Rehman has a proven commitment to justice, inclusion and equity, and we wish him the best as he embarks on this new journey.” 

Mohamed also urged Mayor Adams to increase diversity in his administration so that it more fairly represents the diverse population of the city.
