Fund Development Coordinator (Full Time)
The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) is seeking a qualified Development Coordinator. CAIR-NY is a chapter of CAIR, the largest Muslim advocacy and civil rights organization in the United States. We are seeking an individual who thrives in the field, connecting directly with the community, and who can also provide focused support behind the scenes. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the leadership team in achieving the organization’s financial goals through outreach, donor engagement, and events.
Responsibilities
Spend approximately 70% of time in the field and 30% on desk-based work.
Identify and secure speaking opportunities with strong donor engagement potential.
Represent CAIR-NY at events with a focus on cultivating donor and prospect relationships.
Support donor-hosted gatherings and major donor meetings alongside Executive DirectorDeliver presentations and khutbahs at Friday prayers.
Support donor-hosted events, including private major donor gatherings, in collaboration with the Executive Director and Marketing Director.
Assist in coordination of major fundraising events such as the annual gala and special fundraisers.
Maintain donor information in CRM and support donor cultivation efforts.
Contribute to digital fundraising campaigns through social media, email, and other platforms.
Skills
Strong public speaking skills; khutbah experience preferred.
Relationship-building and community engagement experience.
Strong organizational and research skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Event planning and coordination experience.
Familiarity with CRM or donor management systems.
Strong writing skills; design experience a plus.
Qualifications
At least two years of professional experience with increasing responsibility in fundraising, community outreach, program development, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred).
Driver’s license preferred.
Compensation
Compensation: $60,000 – $65,000 annually, reimbursement of health care insurance, 401(K), trainings through CAIR network and other institutions, paid vacation/holidays/sick days.

Operations Coordinator (Part Time)
The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) is seeking a qualified Operations Coordinator. CAIR-NY is one of the fastest growing chapters of CAIR, the largest Muslim advocacy and civil rights organization in the United States. We are seeking individuals interested in working in a fast-paced environment and on the front lines of the fight for the civil rights of Muslims. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the administrative cohesion of the organization.
Overview
The Operations Coordinator performs administrative, human resource, financial, and general office support activities in a dynamic team environment. The primary task of the position is financial management which includes bookkeeping, liaising with the accountant to file taxes, logging transactions, populating bi-weekly financial reports, working with the development team to generate donor reports, send tax receipts, and working closely with the Executive Director to analyze financial sustainability of the organization. The Operations Coordinator will also conduct miscellaneous administrative duties such as filing, scanning, printing, screening phone calls, stocking supplies, assisting with client intakes, and other duties outside of the job description as needed. The position has flexible hours (20 hours a week) on a Monday through Friday schedule.
Qualification
Substantial experience with financial management (bank reconciliations, financial reporting, etc.)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, cloud-based file management systems, donor database/CRM systems, and Quickbooks online accounting software.
Substantial experience with bookkeeping, payroll processing, and insurance filing.
Strong problem solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work outside of job description parameters, as needed.
Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Accounting preferred.
Experience with website management and social media communications preferred.
Responsibilities
Generate bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial status reports.
Perform annual tasks such as tax filing, insurance renewals, and labor compliance.
Screen calls, respond to mail, and direct communications to appropriate department.
Conduct client intake calls, and carryout professional interactions with constituents.
File, scan, and organize important documents for easy access physically and digitally.
Schedule appointments and update staff calendar with meetings and important dates.
Process payroll, reimbursements, new hires, and accounts payable and receivables.
Manage spreadsheets, donor databases, and important company information.
Draft templates for office infrastructure and routine communications.
Maintain office inventory and purchases supplies as needed.
Compensation
Part time: $35,000 - $45,000 dependent on number of hours and experience.
