In a statement, CAIR-NY Executive Director Afaf Nasher, Esq., said:
“Congressman Kennedy’s remarks send a forceful and timely message to New Yorkers and all Americans that Islamophobia has no place in our country. When elected leaders use their voices to reject hate and religious discrimination they help protect the dignity, safety and civil rights of American Muslims and members of all minority communities. We applaud Congressman Kennedy for rejecting a narrative that promotes fear and division, singles out entire faith communities and falsely portrays intolerance as strength.”
CAIR-NY's mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR-NY es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
