CAIR-NY, YAMA & Allies to Hold Press Conference, Rally Outside News Corp HQ Calling for Boycott of New York Post Over Islamophobic Coverage of Imam Siraj Wahhaj
(NEW YORK, N.Y., 10/20/25) – On Tuesday, October 21, at 12 PM, the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will join a press conference and rally hosted by the Yemeni American Merchants Association (YAMA) outside News Corp Headquarters (1211 6th Avenue, New York, NY) to call for a citywide boycott of the New York Post following its recent editorial attacks on Imam Siraj Wahhaj.

YAMA and its partners will highlight the Post’s long history of inflammatory, anti-Muslim coverage and demand accountability from both the publication and its advertisers.
The coalition is calling for:
A public apology to Imam Siraj Wahhaj, Muslim Americans, and all communities harmed by the Post’s coverage.
Responsible, ethical journalism that rejects racism and Islamophobia.
An end to government officials legitimizing the Post’s platform in a diverse, multicultural city.
YAMA will continue distributing boycott posters and engaging merchants across all boroughs until these demands are met.
