In a statement, CAIR-NY Litigation Director Ahmed Mohamed said:

“This is yet another hate attack on a member of the Asian-American community in response to fear surrounding COVID-19. This irrational fear and the resulting attacks are exacerbated by discriminatory statements by irresponsible national leaders. We ask that our nation’s leaders act appropriately and avoid racist statements while we all struggle with the coronavirus pandemic. CAIR-New York condemns the targeting of the Asian-American or any other minority community.”

Earlier today, CAIR condemned the President’s racist “Chinese virus” tweets.
