CAIR-NY Condemns Vandalism Targeting Mesiva Tiferes Yerushalayim Building

(NEW YORK, NY, 8/26/19) -- The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned vandalism targeting the Mesiva Tiferes Yerushalayim building on the lower East Side of Manhattan.

According to reports, offensive and explicit graffiti was painted while everyone was inside the Bais Medrash. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is reportedly investigating the incident.

CAIR-NY Litigation Director Ahmed Mohamed stated:

“We stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters and strongly condemn this apparent act of hate vandalism. Such despicable actions have no place in our city. We hope this perpetrator is swiftly brought to justice.”
