(New York, NY 11/29/2017) -- The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), a leading Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned what it called President Trump’s “incitement to violence against American Muslims” after he retweeted Islamophobic videos from an anti-Muslim British political leader who has been charged in the United Kingdom with “religious aggravated harassment.”

“These hateful an inflammatory messages are not only beneath the presidency, they are dangerous,” said CAIR-NY’s Legal Director, Albert Fox Cahn. “New York saw a 560% increase in anti-Muslim harassment, discrimination, and hate crimes in 2016, and 2017 is on track to see even more. All New Yorkers of conscience should condemn these bigoted videos and the anti-Muslim violence they will inevitably inspire.”
