This theme reflects the unwavering belief that our greatest strengths are found in our unity and resilience. We look forward to hosting you at World's Fair Marina in Queens, NY on October 3rd, 2026.

Free parking, congregational Maghreb prayer on-site, and halal dinner.

Leqaa Kordia
Palestinian Activist
Leqaa Kordia is a Palestinian Muslim woman who was born in Jerusalem and grew up in the West Bank under the Israeli military occupation. She has lost many family members to the ongoing genocide in Palestine and was imprisoned by ICE for 368 days for protesting against the ongoing genocide. While in custody she suffered her first seizure ever. She was released last March on a bond and her deportation case is ongoing.
Leqaa’s story is a powerful reflection of what it means to remain indivisible in the face of injustice. Her experience speaks to the strength of standing together across communities and refusing to allow borders, fear, or discrimination to divide us.

A lifelong advocate for peace and social justice, Medea Benjamin has spent 50 years fighting for human rights and justice. A Nobel Peace Prize nominee and author of 11 books, she is recognized as one of America’s leading voices for peace and human rights.
We are honored to recognize Medea Benjamin as a CAIR-NY Gala awardee for her decades of courageous advocacy and commitment to justice.
